Sources of Air pollution

In this article we will discuss about air pollution and its impact on the entire environment. We all know that atmospheric air contains 78% nitrogen 21% oxygen 0.3% carbon dioxide and remaining other gases like ozone, helium, krypton, carbon monoxide etc. The present level of oxygen in the atmosphere is because of photosynthesis process of green plants. From late 18th century industrialization began in European countries and unnecessary gases such as CO2, NOx, SOx etc are released in the environment. These gases are very harmful to the living things and are considered to be top pollutants as far as air pollution is concerned. The problem of air pollution comes on our radar when smog level in Europe and china increases beyond the normal level and so many people were died in previous few decades. Now in this article we will discuss the causes of air pollution in details.
Reasons of Air pollution
In early time of industrial evolution high amount of coal were burn for metal industries. The main emission of coal industries are the carbon particles and very high amount of CO2 and CO. Coal thermal power plants also release very high amount of Carbon and other gases in the atmosphere. Then after coal power plants the next source of air pollution is the use of fire wood for cooking in the rural areas of Asia and Africa. There are so many countries in the Africa and Asia where fire wood is main source of energy for cooking. Also it is not possible for every household to perches advanced cooking technologies that runs on Natural gas or LPG. So the use of fire wood for cooking and water heating causes air pollution.
Then recently the biggest source of air pollutants is the automobile. Yes, it is right. An individual automobile will not impact the environment that much but when the quantity of automobiles used in entire world is considered then we can see that the amount of pollutants released in the atmosphere is very high. This problem is very serious because a single automobile user is not polluting the environment but all automobile users in the world together pollute the world. So it is very difficult to control the pollution caused by the automobiles.

Then the next reason of air pollution is the uncontrolled cutting of the trees. Plant absorbs atmospheric carbon dioxide and water from soil and converts it in to oxygen and starch in the presence of Sun light. This process is called as photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the only natural source of oxygen and hence it is very important to have more and more number of plants on the earth. Due to civilization and industrialization the percentage of Forest area decreases rapidly. Hence deforestation is also one of the major reason of Air pollution.
