How we treat our Rivers

Just few days ago I visited one of the temple situated in Maharashtra. The temple is ancient and built with stone. It is situated on the bank of river “Krishna”. The feelings inside the temple were very pleasant and inspirational but when I saw the condition of the river, I was surprised to saw the waste material deposition in the river.

This is most dangerous problem we Indian have, we treat the water bodies as a dumping ground for all waste we have. We never think about the future effects of water pollution before throwing the waste material inside the rivers and canals. The river contains plastic waste, vegetable waste, industrial chemicals etc. Now a day’s Indian government takes initiative to clean the water bodies such as rivers but I think the efforts may goes waste because it is not the duty of government officers to clean the rivers but the main responsibility is on us. We are the polluters of Nature so unless and until we worship the Nature from our heart, Nature will never become clean.

We are Destroyers of Earth

You are responsible for the future of the Earth

One of the most dangerous water pollution is the petroleum oil spillage in the water bodies like sea and rivers. Millions of year ago life on the earth started the journey inside water. After that, with the evolution of aquatic life especially aquatic plants were successfully developed and they produce the key of today’s life that is “OXYGEN”. Those days the atmosphere does not contain the Oxygen. These aquatic plants produce oxygen in the photosynthesis process and released it to the atmosphere. So that the level of oxygen slowly increases and then the life on the land comes in to existence.

With the human evolution and revolution the percentage of trees that covers the land decreases. Human destroyed the forests for building homes and creating fields. But still we can breathe today because of the existence of the aquatic plants that produces the life ingredient “Oxygen”. But human still engaged him to destroy that aquatic life also by polluting the sea water by number of means. One of the biggest pollution causes is Oil spillage.

Spilt oil penetrates into the structure of the plumage of birds and the fur of mammals, reducing its insulating ability, and making them more vulnerable to temperature fluctuations and much less buoyant in the water. Slowly the marine life will destroyed, as the water surface gets covered with black oil layer, the photosynthesis process totally stops working causes shutting down the production of Oxygen and then you will not breathe any more on this planet Earth.

Our Earth is in danger and you are responsible for it. If you can’t save the earth then your next generation will not survive. When the time comes to leave the earth and shift the human being on to the new planet then you know that only few top most people can only be rescue and other millions of people will die on the earth.

What happens when Oil Spills in Water bodies?

There is hardly anything that helps to sustain humanity and other species on our planet more so than water. Conservationist and regular people everywhere are more concerned than ever by the many types of pollution that has infiltrated all our waterways Water pollution and the damage it can do to our future is very real and becoming a greater problem everyday.

Although there are many people who are doing their best to implement new solutions to water damage, it is not enough to keep up with the growing problem. Contaminants from factories and industries all over the world contribute to this problem. Many industries are committing themselves to help keep water pollution and the damage it can cause to a minimum.

Another source of water pollution and the damage that it can cause is from oil spills from ships that carry oil. There gave been several serious incidents involving ships that have leaked large amounts of oil into the oceans they travel on. These spills do not only contaminate the water, but the effect that it can have on fish and wildlife is horrendous.

Birds, fish, and other animals that ingest it or are caught in the oily residue will become sick or die from the exposure to this substance. Unless the oil spill is small or contained very quickly, it will eventually end up on the beaches and shorelines of the closest land area. Plant life on the coastlines can be destroyed as well. This is just one more form of preventable pollution that threatens us.

It is never the intention of industry or oil carrying ships to damage our water, land, or air. We have grown into a society that demands certain things and in trying to supply our demand these companies inadvertently cause this kind of damage to our planet. We must bear a certain amount of responsibility for the problem because if not for our want and need for the products they produce, no damage would occur, or at least it might be on a smaller scale.

We can all feel bad as much as we want to that our planet is getting dirty, but until we take a bigger stand and encourage real solutions for the pollutions, nothing may get done quickly enough. Our children will inherit this planet that we will one day leave behind and it is up to all of us to ensure that it will still be a decent place for them to live.
